WHAT IS IT?

This course is for Roma women over 18 years old. In order to obtain the certificate, all the theory and practical hours must be completed, and the final practical report must be presented.

Apart from the official curriculum, throughout the sessions we cover contents on Roma history and culture, as well as others related to the prevention of violence in educational environments.

To date, we have organised 13 editions of this course, which have enabled more than 130 Roma women to obtain this official certification.

HOW DID IT ORIGINATE?

The idea of organising these training courses came from the Roma women we work with, many of whom informed us of their need to be able to take official courses that would facilitate their entry into the labour market, especially for those with more difficulties.

The educational profile of the Roma women who participate has never been an obstacle for them to be able to take and complete the course, obtaining the official accreditation. The association articulates the necessary resources and accompaniment so that they can successfully face the official evaluations and obtain the official accreditation.

The key to this process is the individualised monitoring that we carry out and the support provided by volunteers from our association who help them to resolve their concerns, as well as any technical doubts that may arise during the drafting of the final report.

PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

The official certification obtained after completing this course enables participants to work as monitors in school canteens.

The tasks included in this job, among others, are: caring for the children in the dining room and in the free time they spend outside the classroom, higiene lessons, ensuring that the spaces are clean, and preventing conflicts and violence among the children.
